Austin S. Pfenninger is a former NCAA Division I student-athlete and a graduate of the University of Miami. During his time at Miami, Austin saw success on both the football field and in the classroom, as well as benefitting from exposure and access to the world of big-time athletics and its regulatory, transactional, financial, and social dimensions.
He was a Hurricanes football letterman as a wide receiver and earned a scout player of the year award. He was fortunate to have been on teams which turned around the Miami direction toward clean, winning football, and his leadership in the locker room and weight room were especially valued by coaching staff during his tenure. He practiced daily with and knows personally numerous players and staff, many now professional players. Austin was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll and the Athletic Director’s Academic Honor Roll across his entire career at Miami. He studied political science and management as an undergraduate and made several Dean’s List and Provost Honor Roll awards. He then completed a Master’s of Jurisprudence degree from Drake University School of Law, focusing specifically upon business law and contracts, while again becoming a Dean’s List honoree. Additionally, Austin completed a M.S.Ed degree in Sports Administration from the University of Miami, where he tailored his learning towards sponsorship, marketing and management.
Austin has been a life-long athlete, starting as a youth in Indianapolis. At Carmel High School in Indiana, he was a 3 year varsity letterman and Academic All-State recipient. Austin was a member of Carmel’s 2011 state championship team that finished the season ranked #4 nationally by MaxPreps.
Longstanding interests in law, media, and government combine with his inside knowledge of sports and entertainment to give Austin a unique preparation and perspective. From this background, he chose to pursue a career as a sports agent, combining several of his interests together.
Desiring to excel by playing by the rules, and mindful of the at times dubious reputation of the representation/agent industry, Austin chose to start his own agency, emphasizing ethics, rational business practices, and a clear vision of doing things the best and right way, every time. Being a former player, he understands and appreciates the tremendous sacrifices athletes make, the pressures challenging them, and has their best interests permanently in mind.
Partnering in PRG with his father, Dr. David Pfenninger, has added expertise in the digital media, music-entertainment, and human resource fields, and this combined athletic and entertainment representation agency under Austin’s leadership is committed to business growth while maintaining the highest professional standards.
